Dhaneshwar Shah

Born in 1979 in Delhi, Shah finished his BFA and MFA in painting from College of Art New Delhi in 2002 and 2005 respectively. Committed to what he calls beauty of scale he plays constantly with the size and proportion of objects. Bigger things get smaller, smaller things get bigger. The use of perspective to focus and foreground objects, the bright earthy range of colours and the repetition of forms for metaphor and outline all derive from his confessed admiration for the miniature tradition especially in the Mughal and Rajasthani styles.
