Born in 1970 in Chattisgarh, Verma’s swift and swirling brushstrokes form a rhythmical journey of their own. He tries to create depth and dimension by juxtaposing vibrant colours like red, yellow, blue, green and sometimes his white brushstrokes are reminiscent of white birds flying into the open sky.

The use of colour and space reflect a bold interplay between elemental forces of nature termed as “Ananda” or “Anandi”. The vibrancy of work has won widespread recognition within India through a series of exhibitions from 1992 up to the present day and in 2003 he received the prestigious AIFACS Award.His works feature in many permanent exhibitions in India as well as in private collection in many parts of the world including US, France, Benelux, Germany and Finland.  He lives and works in Delhi.
